Jo Fabro is a Singing-Voice Specialist with 20 years of teaching experience. She currently teaches voice at Macquarie University BMUS degree and runs the ‘Contemporary Singer’ and ‘Contemporary Vocal Studio’ courses at the Sydney Conservatorium Open Academy.
Jo began her career teaching contemporary voice at many of Sydney’s most prestigious schools. She went on to lecture at The Australian Institute of Music. Jo has a thriving private studio in Waterloo, specialising in CCM voice & Voice rehabilitation.
Since 2015, Jo has acted as a guest lecturer, judge and conducted workshops on voice, jazz voice, Vocal Pedagogy and CCM voice for Australian National University (ANU), Sydney Eisteddfod, Sydney Conservatorium and Reddam College.
Jo holds a Bachelor of Music from UNSW and a Master of Music (Vocal Pedagogy), from Brisbane Conservatorium of Music (Griffith University). Jo has 4 albums of original music, which have won awards. In 2022 the album, ’Don’t make a liar out of me” was released. It is currently number 10 on the Australian Blues and Roots Airplay Chart.
Jo has her own touring band of 5 members, which is on tour in South Australia now. They will perform at the Barley Stacks winery, Yorke Peninsula, on the evening of Saturday 5th August.
