CONVENOR: Ella Frampton and Kate McDonald

ADJUDICATOR: Deborah Brennan

Deborah Brennan is an Adelaide-based cabaret performer, singer, pianist, storyteller and choir director whose work celebrates the power of music to connect people through humour, heart and shared experience. She has written and performed acclaimed cabaret productions including A Case of You: The Music of Joni Mitchell, The Hummingbird Effect and The Parting Glass, with performances at the Adelaide, Melbourne, Perth and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals. Her work has been featured on ABC Radio Adelaide, BBC Radio Scotland and Perth’s RTR FM, and has earned praise for its engaging storytelling, musicality and warmth.

Alongside her performance career, Deborah is the creator and host of Bootleg Choir, Adelaide’s interactive pub choir experience that has welcomed hundreds of singers to lift their voices together in sold-out events across South Australia. With no auditions and no pressure, Bootleg Choir celebrates the joy of community singing and has become a much-loved fixture of Adelaide’s live music scene.

Deborah also works as a music educator and choir director, encouraging singers and performers of all ages to develop confidence, creativity and authentic musical expression. She is delighted to be adjudicating the Contemporary Voice section and wishes all competitors the very best for their performances.
