Working in Adelaide in schools, Sam directs numerous ensembles including both award-winning Emmaus Christian College Chamber Ensembles. In 2021 she founded Fusion Strings at Westminster School, giving students access to eclectic music that they would not ordinarily encounter on their instruments. She also teaches in string and wind immersion programmes.

Sam founded Art Design By Sam in 2017, creating useful and inspiring music teaching resources. Her music diaries are particularly popular amongst students.

Sam is a regular performer in the Adelaide Music Scene with the Glenhuntly Quartet and frequents the Adelaide Fringe Festival with Fusion Pops Orchestra. She was proud to perform on the bassoon for the Australian Premier of The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace by Karl Jenkins in 2022, a joint project with McLaren Vale Big Sing, Elder Conservatorium and Special Interest Music Schools under the baton of Carl Crossin.
